Thousand-Pillared Mandapam Inaugurated at Sri Venkateswara Temple Dokiparru
A temple in a village called Dokiparru got a brand new special hall.
The hall is called a 'thousand-pillared mandapam,' which means it has many pillars holding up the roof.
Two people who help look after the temple, P.V. Krishna Reddy and Sudha Reddy, opened the hall with special prayers and chanting.
This happened on a Saturday morning during a lucky time called Tula Lagna.
Before the opening, priests did many holy ceremonies, including washing the temple god with special water.
Afterward, a special wedding ceremony for the temple god was held, and lots of people came to watch.
The hall is decorated with beautiful stone carvings of gods and goddesses.
There is even a carving showing Lord Vishnu resting on a giant snake.
The temple also opened a hall for lighting many lamps and a mirror hall.
Now people will use this new hall for their regular and fortnightly prayers.
The Sri Sudarshana Sahasra Sthambha Mandapam (thousand-pillared hall) at the Sri Bhu Sametha Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Dokiparru was inaugurated on Saturday amid Vedic chants.
Founder-trustees P.V. Krishna Reddy and Sudha Reddy performed the rituals and entered the mandapam at 10.40 am during the auspicious Tula Lagna.
The inauguration was preceded by Ashtottara Shata Kalasabhishekam, the temple's Asthanam, felicitation of Vedic scholars and Maha Nivedana, followed by a special Srinivasa Kalyanam.
The mandapam features sculptures of the 24 incarnations of Lord Maha Vishnu, 24 forms of Goddess Mahalakshmi, the Ashta Dikpalakas and the Navagrahas.
A Sahasra Deepalankarana Seva Mandapam and a mirror hall were also inaugurated, and the new mandapam will host the temple's regular and fortnightly worship rituals.
