Independence Day Tragedy: Student Electrocuted While Hoisting Flag
A teenage boy in India was helping his school get ready for a big national holiday called Independence Day.
He climbed onto the school roof with a long metal pole to hang the flag.
The metal pole touched a very powerful electric wire above the roof.
Electricity travels easily through metal, so the electric current went straight through his body.
The shock gave him very bad burns and he collapsed.
The school staff rushed him to the hospital, but the doctors could not save him.

He suffered severe burns and collapsed; the school management took him to the district hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Raj's family has alleged negligence by the school management and said they were not informed about the incident for nearly an hour.
