On Saturday, a teacher named Priyabrata Behera was at a private school in Odisha, getting ready for Independence Day.

He and another school worker were putting up a flagpole for a flag-hoisting ceremony.

The flagpole became hard to balance and fell onto an electric wire.

The electricity shocked Behera very badly.

He was rushed to a small health centre and then to a bigger hospital.

Sadly, doctors there said he had passed away.

A few students were also hurt and went to the hospital, but some were able to go home.

The teacher's father is very sad and said his son did not want to go to school that day.

A school worker who saw the accident said it all happened very fast.

It was a tragic accident during the celebration.
