SUV Runs Over Andhra Medical Student, Declared Brain Dead
A young woman who was studying to become a doctor was hurt very badly in an accident.
She was riding a two-wheeler with a friend near a mall.
A car driven by two young men hit them.
The car did not stop after the crash.
It ran over her, and she got a very serious head injury.
Her friend was hurt only a little.
Her family took her to a hospital in another city.
The doctors there said her brain had stopped working.
The two people who were driving the car have been arrested.
The police are still working to find out who they are.
M Priyanka, a 24-year-old dermatology student at GSL Medical College, was declared brain dead after an SUV ran over her.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night near AV Mall in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh.
The SUV hit the two-wheeler Priyanka was riding, did not stop, and ran over her, causing severe head injuries.
Her companion, radiology student Umesh, escaped with minor injuries.
Two suspects have been arrested but not yet identified, said Prakash Nagar Police Station officer R. Bajilal.
