Parliament's Makar Dwar may get porch three years after opening
In India, there is a special building called Parliament where leaders make laws for the country.
The building was finished and opened three years ago.
Most of the leaders who work there enter through a big door called Makar Dwar.
Right now, that door has no roof or cover over it.
A porch is like a roof over a door that protects people from sun and rain.
Some other doors at the building already have porches.
Very important leaders like the Prime Minister use those covered doors.
The leader in charge of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla, asked the building department to build a porch over Makar Dwar.
The building department is now checking if it can be done.
If yes, leaders will be protected from the weather when they enter.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has asked the Central Public Works Department to consider adding a porch over Makar Dwar at the new Parliament building.
Makar Dwar is the entrance used by most MPs and is currently uncovered.
The request comes three years after the new Parliament building was inaugurated.
Three of the building's entrances, including those used by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan, already have porches.
The Central Public Works Department is examining the feasibility of adding the porch.
