Singh Lauds Army's Historic 16-Medal Campaign at Glasgow Commonwealth Games

The Indian Army sent 20 soldiers to Glasgow, Scotland, to compete in a big sports event called the Commonwealth Games.

They did amazingly well and won 16 medals, including 8 gold medals.

The Army won 41 out of every 100 medals that India got in the whole competition, including most of India's gold medals.

The women soldiers were superstars at boxing, winning most of India's boxing gold medals.

Some soldiers made history by winning India's first-ever medals in judo and para shot put, and a first silver in the high jump.

After the Games, an important leader named Rajnath Singh met the soldiers and told them he was very proud of them.

He called them heroes and role models for millions of people in India.

He said they are a mix of a soldier and a sports champion.

He also told them to keep working hard, because even bigger competitions like the Asian Games and the Olympics are coming next.
