Gujarat Ministers Stress Nationalism, Development on 80th Independence Day
India recently celebrated 80 years since it became an independent country.
In the state of Gujarat, two big government leaders joined special celebrations.
One celebration was in a town called Jhagadia and the other in a town called Gondal.
The leaders gave speeches about being proud of India.
They said people should work together and not fight over region, language or caste.
They also talked about helping farmers and planting lots of trees to keep the environment clean.
One leader said people should buy things made in India.
They gave awards to people who helped their communities, like people who donated their eyes and organs.
There were also fun programs like dance shows and a demonstration by police dogs.
The leaders ended by asking everyone to work together to make India a strong and developed country by the year 2047.
Gujarat marked its 80th Independence Day with celebrations at Jhagadia in Bharuch and Gondal in Rajkot district, led by ministers Praful Pansheriya and Jitu Vaghani.
Pansheriya urged citizens to prioritise nationalism over casteism, regionalism and linguistic divisions, saying 'Neither casteism, nor regionalism, nor linguisticism; only nationalism should be our priority.'
He highlighted direct benefit transfers, digital payments, growing self-reliance in defence manufacturing, and the 'Viksit Bharat 2047' vision of a developed India.
Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani said over 17 crore trees were planted under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign and Rs 22,733 crore was provided to 1.36 crore farmers during natural disasters over the past decade.
Both events featured felicitations of Karmayogis and freedom fighters, cultural performances, tree plantation, and Rs 25 lakh development cheques for Jhagadia and Rajkot district.
