Thousands Join Shiva Processions and Kanwar Yatras Across Madhya Pradesh
People across Madhya Pradesh celebrated the last Monday of Shravan with large Shiva processions and Kanwar yatras.
Devotees carried holy water, prayed and walked together to temples.
In Mandsaur, people pulled a decorated chariot carrying Lord Pashupatinath’s silver idol.
More than 5,000 people joined one yatra in the Barwani area.
Another 2,100 devotees from 67 villages walked about 40 kilometres in Bagh.
Smaller groups also travelled from Kukshi and Khetia.
Many processions had drums, music, flags, tableaux and religious performances.
Organisers and local officials also highlighted community participation and cleaning the streets afterward.

More than 5,000 people took part in the Lord Birsa Munda Kanwar Yatra from Dhanora to Gupteshwar Mahadev in Kamod.
Around 2,100 devotees from 67 villages carried Narmada water across roughly 40 kilometres during the Bagh Kanwar Yatra.
New Kanwar yatras were held in Kukshi and Khetia, including a 25-pilgrim foot journey toward Omkareshwar.
Processions in Ratlam, Khachrod and Garoth featured worship, music, tableaux, palanquins, aarti and prasad distribution.
