Yogi Adityanath's Helicopter Flower Shower Lifts Kanwar Pilgrims in Meerut
In a country called India, there is a big group of people who love Lord Shiva, a very important god.
Every year, they walk for many days to fetch water from a holy river called the Ganga.
They carry this water in pots on their shoulders to offer it at Shiva temples far away.
This long walk is called the Kanwar Yatra.
Recently, many pilgrims were walking through a city called Meerut.
The leader of the state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, came to cheer them up.
He threw flower petals on the pilgrims like a magical rain of flowers.
A helicopter flying in the sky also dropped flower petals on them.
The tired walkers felt very happy and full of energy to continue their journey.
The leader also made sure police and helpers were there to keep everyone safe.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath showered flower petals on Kanwar pilgrims in Meerut on August 8, 2026, during the Shravan Kanwar Yatra.
Flower petals were also showered from a helicopter along parts of the Kanwar route, with the floral welcome reportedly continuing for around 20 minutes.
Before reaching the venue, Adityanath conducted an aerial survey of the route and directed officials to ensure security, crowd management, and facilities for pilgrims.
The Chief Minister said helicopter flower showers would continue during the ongoing Kanwar Yatra and around the Shivratri period.
Lakhs of devotees from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh are carrying Ganga water from Haridwar to Shiva temples for Jalabhishek.
