More than 5,000 people joined a religious procession in Sironj.

The procession is called a Kanwar Yatra.

It began at noon on Monday.

People started from Hajipur Nageshwar Temple and the agricultural market area.

They walked about 12 kilometres to a Shiva temple in Devpur.

Along the way, they heard drums, devotional songs, and Vedic chants.

They carried saffron flags and praised Lord Shiva.

At the temple, they offered water to the Shiva idol.

Police stayed nearby to help keep the event orderly.
