Delhi Records Wettest Day in More Than Two Years
Delhi received a lot of rain on Tuesday.
The city’s main weather station at Safdarjung measured 99.1 millimetres in one day.
This was Delhi’s wettest day in more than two years at that station.
It was the most rain there since August 1, 2024.
Delhi University recorded even more rain, measuring 104 millimetres.
Other locations, including Ayanagar and Ridge, also recorded more than 100 millimetres.
The heavy rain fell across much of the city.
It caused water to collect on roads and led to waterlogging in several areas.
Delhi’s Safdarjung observatory recorded 99.1 mm of rain in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 am Tuesday.
It was Safdarjung’s highest rainfall across all months since 107.6 mm was recorded on August 1, 2024.
The total narrowly exceeded the 98.7 mm recorded on August 8 this year and surpassed 2025’s previous high of 80.4 mm.
Delhi University recorded the city’s highest rainfall at 104 mm, followed by Ayanagar with 101.9 mm.
The widespread downpour caused waterlogging in parts of Delhi, including Baba Kharak Singh Marg.
