Tamil Nadu CM Vijay Hoists Flag at 80th Independence Day
Every year, India celebrates Independence Day, and this year was the 80th time the country marked the day.
The leader of Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister Vijay, raised the Indian national flag at a famous fort called Fort St George in Chennai.
It was the first time he did this as Chief Minister.
A famous actress named Trisha Krishnan came to watch, and she sat in the front row next to Vijay's parents.
A video of Trisha saluting the Chief Minister spread widely on social media.
Vijay gave a speech during the celebrations.
He said that when people feel they are being treated like slaves, they come together and unite.
He said true freedom happens when caste and religion no longer divide people.
He also said his government had helped farmers by waiving their crop loans and had closed 717 liquor shops in its first three months.
He promised to work for a corruption-free Tamil Nadu.
