TVK Govt Is Alternative To Established Order, Says Vijay
On Saturday, Mr. Vijay, the leader of Tamil Nadu in India, gave a big speech from a very old fort called Fort St George.
The speech was for Independence Day, the day India celebrates being free.
Mr. Vijay told the people that his new government is an alternative to the old ways of ruling.
He promised to protect the interests of Tamil people and to stop corruption, which is when people unfairly take money that belongs to the public.
He also wants to end the drug culture in the State.
He asked people to keep helping his government even after they voted for him.
He said the government will keep good programs started by earlier leaders, like free breakfast for school children and low-cost food at Amma canteens.
He wants Tamil Nadu to become a very rich economy by the year 2036.
At the event, he also gave awards to brave and talented people, like a mountaineer and a famous doctor.
He ended by saying that all lives are born equal, no matter their caste or religion.

He announced the State's goal of becoming a US $1.5 trillion economy by 2036 and conferred awards on officials and achievers.
