Sironj Farmers End Road Blockade After Fertilizer Supply Assurance

Farmers are people who grow the food we eat, like wheat and rice.

To help their plants grow strong, farmers use special plant food called fertilizer.

In a town called Sironj, in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, the farmers ran out of fertilizer.

They needed two types, called urea and DAP, but the shops did not have any.

The farmers were worried because their crops needed the fertilizer right away.

So they blocked the road to get everyone's attention.

Government officials came and gave the farmers tickets that said they could get fertilizer on August 10.

But the farmers said that was too late and returned the tickets.

They sat down near the district office and refused to leave.

A senior official promised to give them fertilizer within two days, so the farmers were happy and went home.
