Farmers block highway demanding irrigation water release in Asifabad

So the farmers blocked a big highway to show they were upset.

A leader named Kova Lakshmi came to support them.

She said the farmers could lose their crops because the rice plants were already planted.

She blamed the Congress government for not giving water.

The government had said El Niño was the reason, but she did not agree.

Police and other officials came to talk to the farmers.

They promised to ask the government to release the water.

After that, the farmers ended their protest, and the road was open again.
