MMRDA canteen reopens after operator secures FSSAI food licence

There is a cafeteria inside a government office building in Mumbai called MMRDA.

Businesses that serve food must have a special permission called a food safety licence.

Earlier this week, health inspectors found that the canteen did not have this licence.

So they told the canteen to close and made the person in charge pay a fine.

The person in charge said he had already asked for the licence at the end of July.

The inspectors checked his application, but it still needed some changes.

After the licence was finally approved, officials allowed the canteen to open again.

Now the canteen can serve meals to people in the building while following the rules.
