Chhattisgarh CM Rewards Weightlifter Gyaneshwari Yadav With Cash and Promotion
The chief minister of the Indian state of Chhattisgarh gave a big thank‑you to a young weightlifter named Gyaneshwari Yadav.
She won a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
He gave her 30 lakh rupees and promoted her to a higher police rank.
She used to be a police officer and also won a bronze medal in the Asian Championships.
The state wants to help more athletes by building better training places and giving them support.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai awarded weightlifter Gyaneshwari Yadav a Rs 30 lakh cash reward.
Yadav received an out‑of‑turn promotion to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
The award follows Yadav’s silver medal win in the women’s 53 kg weightlifting event at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow.
Yadav, 23, had previously been an Assistant Sub‑Inspector in Chhattisgarh Police and an Asian Championships bronze medallist.
The state government pledged to strengthen sports infrastructure and support for athletes.
