Trains are long vehicles that run on tracks and carry many people between cities and towns.

The Indian government has made it easier for people to travel by train in two states, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

In Uttar Pradesh, two trains that shared part of their route are being combined into one bigger train.

The combined train will have 24 carriages instead of 12, so twice as many people can ride it.

People can now travel directly between Chitrakoot and Pratapgarh without having to change trains at Kanpur.

The train also stops at places like Lucknow, Kanpur and Amethi along the way.

In Madhya Pradesh, a brand-new daily train now runs between Itarsi and Madan Mahal in Jabalpur.

That trip is about 242 kilometres long and takes roughly five hours.

The new train stops at smaller towns, helping people travel every day for work, school, health care or to visit family.

Itarsi is a big railway crossing point, which lets travellers connect to trains going across the country.
