At the Banke Bihari temple, a special Mangala Aarti is held shortly after midnight once a year.

This year, the aarti will start at 1:55 am on September 5.

The temple will open its doors 10 minutes earlier.

Only 600 people with special passes can enter because large crowds are expected.

The temple’s hereditary priests also need passes.

Other devotees can watch the ceremony online through a live stream.

Several other temples in Vrindavan are also preparing for Janmashtami.
