Two weather systems are bringing a lot of rain to parts of Madhya Pradesh.

The weather department said Rewa, Satna, Panna and nearby districts could receive heavy rain.

Rain is also expected in many other districts on September 8 and 9.

Rising water levels led officials to open two gates of Kaliyasot Dam in Bhopal.

Heavy rain damaged a gate near Ujjain’s Mahakal Temple.

Floodwater also covered a bridge in Morena.

A young man who was swept away by floodwater in Shivpuri was later found dead.

Some farms, including soybean fields, may be damaged by standing water.

Even with the recent rain, several districts still have less rain than usual for the season.

Some eastern districts were 2%-23% below normal, while listed western districts were 1%-54% below their seasonal averages.
