AI cameras with facial-recognition and scanning capabilities are planned for railway premises to detect suspicious activity and alert security agencies.
Work on the railway portion of the Mangliya crossing railway overbridge is expected to begin immediately and finish by October 2027.
Proposals include model-station development, high-level platforms, a new bridge, waterlogging controls and the widening of Shastri Bridge.
Several local and long-distance train services have been proposed for reinstatement, expansion, additional stops or increased frequency.
