Heavy Rain Likely in 14 Districts of Madhya Pradesh
In India, there is a big state called Madhya Pradesh.
Right now, it is raining a lot there because of the monsoon season.
Weather scientists called the IMD say that 14 districts will get heavy rain in the next three days.
Two places, Rewa and Balaghat, may get very heavy rain, so they gave a special warning called an orange alert.
When it rains too much, rivers and dams can fill up very fast.
The Bargi Dam is so full that it will open nine of its gates to let water out safely.
This helps stop floods, but people nearby should be careful.
Some districts have not gotten enough rain this year, while others got more than usual.
Everyone should listen to the weather warnings and stay safe.
IMD Bhopal issued an orange alert for very heavy rain in Rewa and Balaghat on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
Heavy rain warnings were issued for 12 more districts, including Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Sagar, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Narsinghpur, Seoni, Mandla, Katni, Shahdol, Sidhi and Singrauli.
Nine gates of Bargi Dam are likely to open at 11 am on Tuesday, releasing an estimated 1031 cumecs of water.
Over 20 districts, mainly in eastern Madhya Pradesh, have yet to reach their rainfall quota.
Fifteen districts recorded above-average rainfall, including Anuppur, Shahdol, Sidhi, Singrauli, Umaria, Barwani, Bhind, Bhopal, Burhanpur, Dewas, Gwalior, Khandwa, Khargone, Rajgarh and Guna.
