Mahindra BE 6 SPORTEQ Launches With AI-Powered TEQ Software Suites
An Indian car company called Mahindra makes electric cars.
Now they have a new, extra-cool version of their BE 6 car called the SPORTEQ.
This car has a smart computer brain that can talk with the driver and help with directions and music.
It can even play games, do karaoke, and show messages on the back tailgate.
The car is called 'software-defined,' which means its features can improve over time.
People who already own older Mahindra electric cars will get some of these new computer features through free updates in the air.
The new car's price starts at around 11.45 lakh Indian rupees if you rent the battery, or about 19.45 lakh rupees if you buy the battery with the car.
The first new cars will be handed to customers on August 26, 2026.
The free updates for older cars will start arriving from January 2027.
Mahindra launched the BE 6 SPORTEQ in India, with Battery-as-a-Service pricing starting at Rs 11.45 lakh and non-BaaS prices from Rs 19.45 lakh to Rs 26.95 lakh.
Deliveries of the BE 6 SPORTEQ are scheduled to begin on August 26, 2026.
The SPORTEQ introduces six TEQ software suites powered by Mahindra's MAIA platform, including TEQ_Talk, a Google Gemini-based assistant using 17 specialised AI agents.
Existing BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S owners will receive selected SPORTEQ features via phased over-the-air updates beginning January 2027, varying by model and variant.
The range includes the Formula E Freedom Edition with the original two-screen cockpit and an Acceleration Boost claiming a 0-100 km/h time of 6.44 seconds.
