Delhi Assembly Opens Doors to Citizens for Independence Day Celebrations
The Delhi Legislative Assembly is the big building where lawmakers make rules for the city of Delhi.
To celebrate India's Independence Day, the Assembly is opening its doors so citizens and families can visit.
Visitors are welcome on August 14 and 15, from 5 o'clock in the evening until 8 o'clock.
You do not need to sign up beforehand, but you must bring a valid identity card, like an Aadhaar card.
In the evening, the building will shine with special tricolour lights.
Army bands from the BSF and CRPF will play patriotic songs, and Sahitya Kala Parishad artists will perform cultural shows.
The Speaker, Mr. Vijender Gupta, said these democratic institutions belong to the citizens they serve.
Visitors can explore the historic Assembly building and learn about Delhi's democratic history.
