Mumbai Set to Celebrate 80th Independence Day With Iconic Events

India is getting ready to celebrate its 80th Independence Day on Saturday, August 15.

In Mumbai, lots of fun events are planned all across the city.

Early in the morning, people can watch the Indian flag being raised at the BMC Headquarters near CSMT.

Runners can join a very long 12-hour marathon at Shivaji Park in Dadar.

In the evening, there will be a water show with music, light and colour at the Fountain of Joy in BKC.

A special live performance will also take place at the Arts Theatre.

After dark, a laser show will light up the Gateway of India.

People can walk through the Fort area to see old, historic buildings glowing with lights.

A restaurant called The Bombay Canteen is having a community feast where people pay as they like, and the money goes to a good cause.

It is a day to celebrate with ceremonies, fitness, food and fun.
