Gas Pipeline Leak Diverts Traffic on Maharashtra’s Samruddhi Expressway

Officials temporarily stopped traffic on a 24-kilometre part of the expressway.
Drivers going toward Mumbai were sent through the Dhule-Solapur highway.
Drivers going toward Nagpur used the highway in the opposite direction.
GAIL workers closed valves to slowly lower pressure in the pipeline.
Firefighting equipment was kept ready in case it was needed.
Police and district officials watched the area while they worked to restore normal traffic.
A GAIL pipeline leak was reported around 5 p.m. near Takliwadi in Gangapur taluka.
Authorities diverted traffic across a 24-kilometre stretch of the Samruddhi Expressway.
The affected section runs between chainage 447 and 470, from Hadas Pimpalgaon to Maliwada.
Mumbai-bound vehicles were routed via the Dhule-Solapur highway, with the reverse route used for Nagpur-bound traffic.
GAIL experts shut valves on both sides of the pipeline while officials prepared firefighting equipment and monitored the situation.
