In July, people in India bought more electric vehicles than ever before.

Dealers sold 327,901 electric vehicles in just one month.

Almost one in every eight vehicles sold in India that month was electric.

Electric scooters and bikes were the most popular, with more than two lakh sold for the first time.

Electric three-wheelers have also become the preferred choice in their category.

Electric cars are growing too, making up nearly 8% of all new cars sold.

Even electric trucks and delivery vans are selling much better than before.

A group called FADA, which collects this information from dealers, says the electric vehicle transition is now a 'showroom reality'.

The whole vehicle market in India also had its best July ever.

FADA is asking automakers to make more popular electric models available so growth can continue.
