Nashik FDA Seizes ₹48.81 Lakh Food Stock During Festive Drive

They found food products that they said may not have been stored safely.
The officials seized fried onion and sunflower oil.
The seized products were worth about ₹48.81 lakh.
The fried onion made up most of the seized stock.
Officials said the action was taken under food safety laws.
The inspection campaign will continue, and citizens can report unsafe food through the FDA’s online portal.
The Nashik FDA seized food stock valued at ₹48,81,920 from M/s Chhaya Agri Pvt. Ltd. on September 17, 2024.
The seizure took place at the company’s facility in Saryad Pimpri, Nashik.
The stock included 12,008 kg of ‘Barista’ fried onion valued at ₹48,03,200.
Officials also seized 328 kg of refined sunflower oil valued at ₹78,720.
The action followed concerns about unhygienic storage, substandard quality and potential risks to human health.
