IIM Bangalore is starting undergraduate programmes for the first time.

About 12,000 students applied for only 80 places.

This means many more students applied than can be admitted.

The first group of students is expected to start classes on August 31, 2026.

IIM Bangalore signed an agreement with Tata Trusts to help develop the new school.

The support is philanthropic, which means it is given to help the institution rather than as a commercial investment.

The new school will carry the name of the Dorabji Tata School of Undergraduate Studies.

Several leaders from Tata Trusts and IIM Bangalore attended the signing.
