Hyderabad Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour

In India, there is a very special day called Independence Day, when people remember their country being free.

This year, people in the city of Hyderabad celebrated the 80th Independence Day.

Government offices and neighborhood groups raised the national flag to mark the occasion.

People remembered the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation's independence.

Many sang patriotic songs and shared sweets with each other.

The police chief, Mr. VC Sajjanar, attended a ceremony at police headquarters and raised the flag.

He received a special salute from police officers and gave certificates to 72 police officers for doing their jobs very well.

City workers who keep Hyderabad running also celebrated and received thanks from their leader.

The human rights commission celebrated too, with songs like Vande Mataram and the national anthem being sung.

It was a happy day full of pride and gratitude across the city.
