MHADA Marks 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Flag Hoisting

Every year on August 15, India celebrates Independence Day, the day the country became free from British rule long ago.

This year, India marked its 80th Independence Day.

A housing authority called MHADA held a special celebration at its office in Mumbai.

The leader of MHADA, Sanjeev Jaiswal, raised the Indian national flag high.

Police officers and security guards saluted the flag in a special ceremony.

Everyone sang the national anthem and the Maharashtra state song together.

People also performed patriotic songs and dances.

Children of the officers and employees took part in the performances too.

The event reminded everyone of the freedom fighters who helped India become independent.

Everyone left feeling proud of their country and committed to helping build it.
