Andhra Pradesh EAGLE, Red Cross Partner Against Drug Abuse
Andhra Pradesh’s anti-drug agency, called EAGLE, has teamed up with the Red Cross.
They signed an agreement to reduce drug abuse across the state.
EAGLE will focus on finding drug networks and enforcing the law.
The Red Cross will help involve young people, families and communities.
The groups also want to help people receive treatment for addiction.
EAGLE says it has seized more than 65,000 kilograms of ganja in registered cases.
A project in Alluri Sitarama Raju district replaced ganja farming with other ways for tribal farmers to earn money.
Together, the organisations hope to make schools and communities safer from drugs.

EAGLE has registered 2,020 NDPS Act cases and seized more than 65,000 kilograms of ganja.
Operation Chaitanya eliminated ganja cultivation in Alluri Sitarama Raju district by 2025 and supported alternative livelihoods for 29,979 tribal farmers.
The Red Cross will use its volunteer network to expand drug-awareness and rehabilitation programmes in villages, schools and families.
