Bihar's prohibition law failed objectives, needs review: Chirag Paswan

In 2016, the government of Bihar made a rule that said people cannot make, buy, or sell alcohol.

This kind of rule is called a prohibition law, and it means alcohol is banned.

An important leader named Chirag Paswan says the rule is not working.

He says people are still secretly making and selling alcohol, including bad or spurious alcohol that can be harmful.

He thinks the law should be changed so that it works better.

Another leader, Jitan Ram Manjhi, also thinks the law is not followed properly and wants it to be enforced like the rule in Gujarat.

But a state minister named Dilip Jaiswal says the law should not be changed at all.

He thinks the people complaining about the ban are mostly those who secretly sell alcohol or people who really like drinking.

So the leaders disagree about whether the alcohol ban should be kept as it is or reviewed.
