Tejashwi Urges Bihar NDA Leaders to Seek 75% Reservation
Tejashwi urges Nitish, Chirag, Manjhi, Kushwaha to push Centre for 75% reservation · thestatesman.com

Tejashwi Prasad Yadav wants Bihar’s reservation plan to receive protection from the Central government.

The plan would provide 65% reservation for several disadvantaged communities.

It would also include 10% reservation for economically weaker sections.

Together, this would make 75% reservation.

Tejashwi asked several NDA leaders to press the Centre to put the plan in the Constitution’s Ninth Schedule.

He said the plan was withdrawn because these leaders did not apply enough pressure.

He also argued that disadvantaged communities have very little representation in senior positions.

Upendra Kushwaha said he supports Bihar’s current reservation system and wants it expanded.

“We have repeatedly said that the government should increase the existing 75% reservation to 85% and include it in the Ninth Schedule. But these people’s intentions are not right. They are using the benefits of reservation to strengthen the politics of their own families and are immersed in the politics of power and self-interest to establish dynastic politics.”
