Sheinbaum says platforms could face a law and penalties over violent content
Mexico’s government has ordered digital platforms to protect minors from violent and other harmful content.
The rules include age checks, safer default settings and ways to report harmful material.
The decree does not include direct penalties for platforms.
President Claudia Sheinbaum says the government may turn it into a law with penalties if companies do not comply.
