Mexico’s heavy vehicle output and exports surge in September
Mexico’s heavy vehicle makers produced 15,181 trucks, buses and other heavy vehicles in September.
That was 121% more than in September 2025.
Exports rose 144.6% year over year to 12,707 vehicles.
In the first nine months of 2026, production increased 10.3% and exports rose 12% compared with the same period a year earlier.
The National Association of Bus, Truck and Tractor Truck Producers said the growth was a positive sign for the industry, but called for stronger demand inside Mexico.
It also said the market needs more vehicle sales and better conditions for transport operators to replace older vehicles.
The association urged the government to publish reference prices for imported used heavy vehicles and asked lawmakers to include certain automotive companies in a proposed tax-rule exception.
Mexico produced 15,181 heavy vehicles in September, up 121% from the same month in 2025.

The National Association of Bus, Truck and Tractor Truck Producers (Anpact) called the accumulated growth a positive signal for the industry.
