Seat expects Martorell plant to reach full capacity in 2027
Seat and Cupra plan to produce 2,500 vehicles a day at their Martorell plant near Barcelona in 2027, the factory’s maximum capacity.
Chief executive Markus Haupt said the company has good expectations for the plant.
Seat and Cupra also aim to deliver 100,000 Cupra Raval cars by next year; 14,800 had been delivered by September, with 51,200 orders recorded.
Haupt said the electric Raval is central to Cupra’s electrification strategy.
Seat and Cupra sold 433,400 vehicles in the first nine months of the year, down 1.4% from the same period a year earlier.
Cupra sales rose 2% to 250,600, while Seat sales fell 6% to 182,800.
Seat and Cupra are still seeking a second electric-car platform for Martorell, which Haupt said is needed for the plant’s industrial future, but the company has received no news on the proposal.
