WiZink moves its Madrid headquarters, relocating 480 employees

WiZink has moved its 480 Madrid employees from Arturo Soria to a rented office near Ifema.

It left its previous building after its owner decided to convert it into luxury apartments.

The bank had used the building for almost 10 years and reduced the space it needed as employees worked remotely.

The new office is in a building previously used as Liberty Seguros’ headquarters.

The move comes alongside a separate change: WiZink’s customer contact centre has moved from Zaragoza to Elvas, Portugal, where a new contractor will provide the service in Spanish.

WiZink has a substantial credit business in Portugal, where it does not take deposits and instead raises funding in capital markets.

Its main shareholder, Värde Partners, is also discussing a possible transfer of some businesses to Unicaja, including consumer finance and Portuguese credit cards; the talks face legal-cost obstacles and no outcome is stated.
