Delhi restricts internet and protest movement ahead of CJP rally
The CJP planned a protest in Delhi on October 10 calling for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign.
Authorities restricted internet service near a central Delhi crossing and took steps to stop supporters from reaching the city.
The Supreme Court said people have a fundamental right to protest peacefully and that metro services must not be completely stopped.
The dispute matters because it raises questions about how officials should balance public safety with the right to protest.
