Taylor Barnard joins Fortescue Zero Racing for Formula E’s Gen4 era
Taylor Barnard has signed with Fortescue Zero Racing, a new Formula E team, for the 2026-27 season.
The 22-year-old British driver had been without a seat after DS Automobiles left the series and Penske was acquired by Fortescue.
Barnard joined Formula E after leaving Formula 2 and finished fourth in his first full season with McLaren, taking five podiums.
He later raced for DS Penske and won the London finale last season, becoming the youngest winner in Formula E. Fortescue Zero says it wants to build a new team around Barnard, and the team will use a Jaguar powertrain.
The deal secures Barnard’s place as Formula E prepares to enter its Gen4 era.
Testing is scheduled for November, and the 2026-27 season is due to begin in Jeddah in December, though the article says the ongoing Middle East conflict could affect that plan.
