Lost 2007 Amy Winehouse interview published nearly 20 years later

A long-unpublished Amy Winehouse interview has now been published, nearly 20 years after it was recorded.

Journalist Ariel Leve spoke with Winehouse in Los Angeles in May 2007, when the singer was 23.

The interview came after the success of her album Back To Black, released in 2006.

Winehouse said her biggest fear when she was younger was dying without making her mark, though she also said she was proud of her work and happiest cooking and cleaning for friends.

She discussed her family, fame and marriage to Blake Fielder-Civil; the couple separated in 2009, and Winehouse died in 2011, aged 27.

The interview offers a record of Winehouse reflecting on fame and her future at a pivotal point in her career.

An anniversary edition of Back To Black is due later this month, with previously unreleased demos, rare B-sides and unseen photos.
