US agency plans to review vehicle lighting standards

US vehicle lighting rules have not been updated in 25 years.

NHTSA plans to review them, including rules for LED headlights and automatic high beams.

A group of up to 18 experts and stakeholders will assess how headlight height and aim affect visibility.

The review could lead to changes that reduce glare while supporting safer lighting.
