ASUS Pad review finds strong OLED hardware held back by software
The ASUS Pad is a 12.2-inch Android tablet made by ASUS.
A review of the 8GB memory and 256GB storage model found that its OLED screen, speakers and performance were strong.
The tablet also supports microSD cards and comes with a protective case.
The tested model was priced at 38,990 Indian rupees, or about $403, during the review period.
Its software makes multitasking less intuitive, so some of the hardware’s productivity potential is harder to use.
The review also noted that ASUS’s software support commitment is unclear, and the ASUS Pen is sold separately.
A review says the ASUS Pad pairs strong hardware with software that does not make its productivity features easy to use.
The tablet has a 12.2-inch dual-layer OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate.
Its MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor delivered performance the reviewer found comfortably above their needs.
The reviewer praised the included protective case, quad speakers, microSD expansion and GlideX software.
The review also notes that multitasking needs to be easier, software support is unclear, and the tablet has no fingerprint sensor.
