Raul Fernandez leads Aprilia 1-2-3 in Indonesian GP practice
Raul Fernandez led Friday practice for the Indonesian MotoGP Grand Prix at Mandalika, on the island of Lombok.
Riding for Trackhouse, he set a lap record and finished ahead of factory Aprilia riders Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martin.
Aprilias filled the top three, while KTM’s Pedro Acosta was fourth and Ducati’s Marc Marquez fifth.
Fernandez said the circuit’s fast, flowing corners suit Aprilia and that he felt especially comfortable on the medium rear tyre.
The strong start gives Aprilia an advantage, but practice results do not decide the race.
The top 10 riders advance directly to Q2, while Ai Ogura, the other Trackhouse rider, finished 13th and must contest Q1.

This story does not have two clearly opposing sides.
If you had to make an ideal track for Aprilia, it’s this one. Fast corners, flowing parts, super easy for us.
It's something that we expected, that this kind of track can be easier for us - but not like we saw in Practice, to be honest.
But remember that it's just Friday. It's important to go directly to Q2, but Friday doesn't really matter too much in the end, during the weekend.
