US household incomes and wealth rose, but financial strain also grew

Most US households saw their income and wealth rise between 2022 and 2025.

But more families had debt payments that took up a large share of their income.

Wealth remained highly unequal, and the median wealth of non-Hispanic Black families fell by 25%.

The findings show that overall gains did not ease financial pressure for everyone.
