Serena Williams honored with Barbie inspired by her 2005 Australian Open win
Mattel has released a new Barbie based on Serena Williams and her 2005 Australian Open victory in Melbourne.
The doll wears the green-and-white outfit Williams wore during the tournament and comes with a racket, ball, shoes and sweatband.
Williams came back from match points in the semi-final against Maria Sharapova before winning the final against Lindsay Davenport.
The doll costs $45 and is being released ahead of International Day of the Girl.
It is the second Barbie inspired by Williams this year; an earlier doll showed her in a suit and celebrated her work beyond tennis.
Williams has said her daughters and her investment work are now priorities, and that she will not play again this year.
She says she may play only a few tournaments next year if she decides to continue.

But I was somehow able to never give up. So when I'm playing with my daughters, I always want (to teach) them to never give up.
