Alcaraz beats Cerundolo in Shanghai after debuting team moustache pact
Carlos Alcaraz beat Argentina’s Juan Manuel Cerundolo 6-3, 6-3 in his opening match at the Shanghai Masters in China.
The win sent the Spanish second seed into the third round.
Alcaraz and members of his team wore moustaches after agreeing to do so if he won the Tokyo tournament earlier this week.
He said the look would stay for the week and that the team was having fun with it.
Alcaraz is also seeking his first Shanghai Masters title.
He has reached the quarter-finals there before, but has not gone further.
His next matches in Shanghai will give him a chance to build on his Tokyo win.
