SpaceX Nears Spectrum Deal to Expand Its Wireless Ambitions

SpaceX is moving closer to securing spectrum, or radio airwaves, for wireless service.

It plans to combine satellite-to-cell service with a ground-based network.

The Federal Communications Commission must approve the move.

If approved, SpaceX could become a major mobile carrier and compete with established providers.
