Lagos Life says it reached 7 million players in 10 days

Lagos Life, a browser game set in a virtual version of Lagos, says it reached more than 7 million players in the 10 days after its October 1 launch.

Its creator, Shalom Rayhamen, also said the game had more than 1.4 million active players on the previous day and over 36.5 million visits since launch.

Players create characters, find jobs, earn virtual money, rent homes and interact in the shared city.

Rayhamen says the team plans to release APIs, which are tools that let different software systems connect.

These could allow other developers to bring games into Lagos Life, where players could use their existing accounts and in-game money.

That could expand the game into a platform for more experiences, rather than a single game.

The team has not said when the APIs will be available or explained the technical rules, transactions or revenue-sharing.

Those details will help determine how developers can use the platform and how it will operate.
