Eraser Releases Video for “DVD” From Their Album Operator!
Philadelphia band Eraser released a video for “DVD” from its album Operator!.
The band describes the song as exploring social perception, surveillance and judgement.
In the video, the band runs around an aging record store after dark and plays with physical media formats named in the song.
Bassist Kat Bean directed the clip, which was shot on early-2000s digital cameras and uses retro visions of 1990s technology.
The song contrasts older, clunkier forms of communication with digital life, which the band says can make social understanding difficult.

DVD” explores themes of social perception, surveillance and judgement.
This song is an attempt to stay grounded while untangling the labyrinths of social acceptance that prevail in our strange modern world where sincerity itself is a dying language.
